12 months warranty on every pump
Every G.R pump is made and tested in our Coimbatore factory. If it fails because of a manufacturing defect, we will repair or replace it. The warranty covers manufacturing defects only, not mistakes in use or installation.
What is covered
- Manufacturing defects in the pump or motor
- Faulty components fitted at our factory
- Claims made within the warranty period (see below)
What is not covered
- Damage caused by the customer, such as wrong use, dry running or wrong voltage
- Improper installation or wiring
- Normal wear and tear
- Repairs or changes made by anyone other than us or our authorised technician
- Damage from flood, lightning, power surges or accidents
Pumps made more than 12 months ago: no warranty coverage
The warranty is 12 months, counted from the month the pump was made. After that, no warranty applies and service and repair charges are applicable.
Check your pump's warranty
Enter the serial number printed on your pump. The first two letters tell us when it was made.
How to read your serial number
The first letter is the year and the second letter is the month. The year is the financial year, 1 April to 31 March.

- O = 2027–28
- P = 2028–29
- and so on
Month (2nd letter)
- A = Apr
- B = May
- C = Jun
- D = Jul
- E = Aug
- F = Sep
- G = Oct
- H = Nov
- I = Dec
- J = Jan
- K = Feb
- L = Mar
Example: NC means made in June 2026.

Installing and maintaining your pump
A pump that is installed well and looked after will run longer and use less power. Here is what we suggest.
Use a qualified technician
Installing or servicing a pump is best left to a trained, qualified electrician or pump technician. Your dealer can put you in touch with one near you.
Follow the instructions with your pump
Each pump comes with its own instructions covering installation, operation and care. Read them before you start, and keep them for later.
Put safety first
Switch off and isolate the power before any work on a pump or its wiring. Correct earthing, proper cables and a suitable starter or protection device are not optional.
Installation tips
- Choose a dry, well-ventilated, easily reachable spot for the pump, protected from rain and flooding.
- Keep the suction pipe short and straight, as small in bends as possible, and air-tight at every joint.
- Use pipe of the right size and fit a foot valve on the suction line where the pump draws from below.
- Prime the pump with water before the first start; never run it dry.
- Mount it on a firm, level base so it does not vibrate.
- Check the supply voltage matches the pump, and use an earthed connection with correctly rated cable.
Everyday care
- Look and listen for leaks, unusual noise, heat or vibration every time you run it.
- Keep the pump, motor and vents clean, dry and free of dust.
- Clean the suction strainer and foot valve regularly.
- Have bearings, seals and wiring checked by a technician if performance drops.
Troubleshooting a fault
Finding the cause early protects your pump and avoids costly repairs. Always switch off and isolate the power before you touch a pump or its wiring. If the check does not fix it, stop using the pump and call us.
Pump does not start
- Is there power at the socket or starter, and is the switch on?
- Check the fuse, breaker and cable connections.
- Check the voltage. Low voltage can stop a pump from starting.
- If the motor hums but does not turn, switch off at once and call a technician.
Pump runs but gives no water or very little
- Is there water at the source, and is the foot valve under the water?
- Look for air leaks in the suction pipe and joints, and prime the pump again.
- Check for a blocked strainer, foot valve or pipe.
- Check that valves on the delivery side are open.
Pump stops suddenly or the overload trips
- Let the motor cool, then restart. Repeated trips mean something is wrong.
- Check the voltage and that the pump is not running dry.
- Check that the impeller is not jammed by dirt or sand.
- If it keeps tripping, stop using it and contact us.
Noise or vibration
- Check that the pump sits firmly on a level base with tight bolts.
- Check that water is reaching the pump freely, since starved pumps are noisy.
- A grinding sound can mean worn bearings. Switch off and have it checked.
Water leaking from the pump
- Tighten pipe joints and check the unions.
- A drip from the shaft seal area can mean a worn seal.
- Do not use the pump if water is reaching the motor or wiring.
